Boat Ramp Named After Special Agent Jaime Zapata

"My son was special, my son was great, he had a great heart. big smile. very friendly very dedicated to his country to his job, and I thank god for giving me Jaime."
The date was February 15 2011 when US Immigration and Customs Enforcement Homeland Security Investigations Special Agent Jaime Zapata died.
Investigators say Zapata and Victor Avila was were traveling near San Louis Potosi in Mexico when they were ambushed and there vehicle was hit bullets.
Investigators say the Zeta cartel was behind the fatal shooting.
Friday a boat ramp in Hidalgo was dedicated to Jaime Zapata.
"Great honor I cannot believe it I wish my son was here to witness it."
Law enforcement agencies like Border Patrol with agents that are strapped with automatic weapons will use this ramp to launch their boats protecting our country from the cartel violence.
"This particular area gives us the ability to respond in a timely manner to incidents intrusions and situations where our officers may receive back up."
Another agencies that will use this boat ramp is the Department of public Safety. They will be launching this newly acquired 3 engine Yellow Fin Interceptor called "Rucker".
"This Rucker is equipped with 6 30-caliber machines guns which along the water with the border violence."
"We are out to sending a message that we are not going to tolerate any human smuggling or any drug smuggling coming through our waterways."
All law enforcement on hand say they will do there best to protect our country in remembrance of Special Agent Jaime Zapata.
