Blood donation centers rely mostly on high school students but once school lets out for the summer, donation centers across the upper valley go through a drought.
It has forced them to reach out for donors.
The entire valley needs around 56,000 units of blood Donation centers struggle to reach their goal each year. Several blood drives are held during the summer to catch up. At times its hard for centers bring people in because of myths and fear. However, donation could save up to three lives.
This year over five million patients will require blood transfusions and there are several people in the lower and upper valley that could really use your help.
