his 60 day suspension is almost up.
superintendent hector gonzales's suspension that is, is up in mid-march, but tonight board members decided to........
The hot topic on tonight's school board meeting agenda Board was the extension of BISD's Superintendent Hector Gonzales' suspension.
Back in Mid-January, Gonzales was suspended with pay, so a thorough investigation could be done.
An investigation regarding his involvement with money issues within the special services and special education department is why board members say he was suspended, in the first place.
Then in Mid-February, Gonzales fought back with a ten million dollar lawsuit against the four board members who pushed to get him suspended.
Gonzales sued for defamation of character and breach of contract.
Tonight, a concerned resident tells news center 23, he wants all this controversy to end.
"So the kids, the teachers, the special education department, they are losing time, everything's on stop."
Rev. Alex Resendez says, he's been coming to all these meetings, because he cares about BISD's future.
As for Gonzales' future, it's still up in the air.
Brett Springston is currently serving as Interim Superintendent.
