The B.I.S.D. school board continues to try to crunch the numbers for their 2011/2011 budget during tough times in the state.
B.I.S.D. has a budget of more than $500 million dollars and they could lose as much as $15 to $20 million dollars in state funding. To balance the budget shortfalls the board is looking at three different proposals with some of the biggest cuts in the transportation department. That includes reducing routes for after school activities and cutting overtime hours. The district should find out by April how much state funding they will lose and will have to balance the budget by June 30th.
