Ground was broken on Wednesday on a project in the City of McAllen with a cost of over $5 million dollars.

The Bicentennial Extension Project, located off of Trenton road will extend the existing Bicentennial Blvd corridor two miles from Nolana Avenue to Trenton road. The $5.2 million dollar project will add four lanes and a hike and bike trail along the eastern corridor. The project is expected to be completed by 2012.
