Young girl's therapy dog taken by dog-nappers.

Kansas Sheriff's deputies are investigating after a blind 5-year-old girl’s therapy dog was apparently stolen right from her front yard in Hutchinson.

“She wasn't ever going to be a normal child,” says mother Lana Taylor, “and when Millie come along she was able to have a little more independence.”

Millie is a pit bull with therapy dog experience that was given to Andrea Taylor in early March.

She had the dog for only three weeks when someone in a white car stopped in front of their home called for the dog, and drove away with Millie inside.

“It just happened in an instant,” said Taylor.

Her daughter suffers from cerebral palsy as well as a multitude of complications from the nerve disorder.

The frail girl lights up at the mention of Millie and can often be found staring out the front window of their home hoping Millie returns.

“She absolutely loves Millie,” said Taylor. “She has always been a good night's sleeper. She's not sleeping at night, she's crying all night long.”

The family is offering a cash reward for Millie’s return.
