Beauty for Ashes Supplies Arrives in Georgetown
An 18 wheeler containing supplies for Bastrop fire victims arrived to the City of Georgetown Tuesday evening and the items will be sorted and delivered to distribution centers to the devastated area.
The Beauty for Ashes drive took place over the past weekend and supplies were collected for the nearly 1,500 families that lost everything in the Central Texas wildfire. The trailer was filled with bottled water which was donated by Feed the Children in Brownsville and event organizers say the overall response from the community was impressive.
The drive organizers, Michelle Holland and Rikki Little said, "We were really happy to get some larger furniture items I know they were really needing a lot of that. We got plenty of food and quite a bit of toys for the children. We also got a lot of monetary donations which they might need a little more than some of the other items. We got close to one thousand dollars so we are really happy about that."
Sunbelt Transportation donated the truck, gas and manpower to get these much needed supplies to Central Texas.
