A bar dispute turned violent after a man shot a family and left them in critical condition. Brownsville Police say no one called 911. The only reason police know about last night's shooting at Las Cabañitas Bar is because hospital staff notified them of three critical injuries.
Apparently, a man who's known as "El Negro” had an argument with 48-year-old, Antonio Gutierrez, in the bathroom but his brother-in-law walked in and broke it up before the argument escalated.
“They even invited the guy to have a beer with them. So as far as they know everything was okay. No one's upset anymore.”
The suspect got up, left the bar but came back, this time with a revolver. He shot Gutierrez, his sister, 45-year-old, Felicitas Gutierrez and her husband, 42-year-old Juan Jose Castillo.
“The bar is packed with people but no one absolutely no one called 911, ambulance, police, not even the bartender.”
Bartender, 46-year-old, Moyses Martinez was caught mopping the floor, trying to conceal the shooting. He was arrested for tampering with evidence.
Police are looking for “El Negro”, who is described as a dark, thin, Hispanic man. He was seen leaving in a white Chevy pickup truck with red or maroon striping.
