San Juan Police believe a simple argument at a bar Tuesday night may be connected to a car-to-car shooting on a street corner that left a 32-year-old in critical condition.

Police say, Jose DeLeon, his father and brother were at the Benchwarmer's Bar located on Iowa Street and Business 83 when they found themselves arguing with three other guys in the restroom. To avoid further confrontation, police say the victim and relatives left the bar and drove away. But on their way home, a grey vehicle pulled up alongside the victim’s car and started shooting. DeLeon, who was in the backseat of his car, was shot in the abdomen and left thigh.

“We have some persons of interest but we haven't confirmed. We’re waiting on the victim so investigators can talk to him.”

DeLeon was rushed to a local hospital where he remains in critical condition. The vehicle the victim was in was taken for further investigation.
