Students at a Texas middle school say they've learned a valuable lesson about how far information can spread.

When you add a little imagination, a simple school assignment can quickly take flight.

Cockrill Middle School students in McKinney, Texas decided they wanted to spread a message a little differently than normal.

And after some brainstorming, the students came up with the idea to write poetry and put their poems on balloons.

Their teacher thought that was a great idea.

The students released five hundred balloons with origami or a haiku of a personal message or a dream attached thinking that their modern day message in a bottle might never be found.

Their balloons, however, were found by another teacher 160 miles away who got her students to write back.

And now that the project has come full circle, they proudly display it as proof that with creativity, there is no limit to who you can reach.
