Baby Found In Stolen Jeep
Thief grabbed vehicle while mom was using ATM.
A 17-month-old who was inside an SUV when it was stolen in Houston, Texas has been found.
Houston police issued an Amber Alert Thursday night for 17-month-old Evan Montgomery Lamar Miller.
Terron Henry found the stolen vehicle shortly after 8 a.m. Friday behind the restaurant he owns.
"My instincts say, 'Let me check and see what's inside.' That's when I saw the baby," Henry said. "Didn't have a jacket on ... I pulled him out and put the jacket on him."
Henry then called police.
Evan was rushed to Texas Children's Hospital to be checked out.
Police said he should be OK.
The toddler's mother told Houston police she pulled into a Walmart about 5:30 p.m. Thursday.
She left her toddler and 7-year-old niece inside the car because it was cold.
Investigators said that while the mother was at an ATM inside the store, she saw a man wearing all black get into her SUV.
The woman said her niece jumped out of the car and the car thief then took off.
"It's totally my fault," mother Niah O'Neil said. "I was completely irresponsible."
Officers described the man as black, in his 20s or 30s, 6 feet tall and 180 to 200 pounds with a thin build.
He was last seen wearing blue jeans, a black leather jacket and a black Kangol hat.
