Police say three people under arrest this afternoon are involved in an auto theft ring in Brownsville.
They are being blamed for several car thefts across the city. Police say three men have admitted to stealing six vehicles. Police say the number of vehicles they stole could be as many as 15. We talked with one of the victim's of those stolen vehicles. This is George Wisdom's 2002 Wrangler.
Police say it was stolen right from his driveway last week. Thieves broke into the car and broke the steering column open to get at the ignition. Police say that these men admitted to stealing six cars. They say the theives were targeting jeep wrangler's, Liberties, Dodge Ram's and Durango's. Police say they would steal them and sell them in Mexico. Wisdoms says he would take his wrangler to South Padre during the summer for a 2-week family get together. He would rid it around on the beach with family members. It was a vehicle his labs also really loved. Although his Wrangler is gone Wisdom says he's glad that the men police say are responsible are in custody. Police say to prevent crimes like this people should install alarms and buy a club to help stop vehicles from getting broken into and stolen.
