NBC News reports that two people have been taken into custody in Watertown, Massachusetts.

Their identities have not been disclosed.  Police have sealed off densely populated areas in the Boston metropolitan area as part of the search for "suspect number 2" wanted in connection with the Boston marathon bombings.

Earlier, "suspect number 1" as identified in FBI surveillance video was shot and killed in an overnight gunfight with police. The suspects are believed to be brothers, originally from the Russian Caucuses.

They are believed to have lived in the U.S. for several years. Stay tuned to NBC News and NewsCenter 23 for the latest.
