Authorities Ask Consumers to Stay Away from Peanut Butter

More than 400 people have reported getting sick and six have died nationwide and all from eating peanut butter tainted with salmonella.

As a precaution, the Consumer Product Safety Commission is urging everyone to stay away from all peanut butter food treats such as crackers, cookies, cakes and ice cream. Salmonella is the most common source of food poisoning in the U.S. causing diarrhea, cramping and fever. Those at greatest risk are children, the elderly, pregnant women and those who have compromised immune system. If you experience any of these symptoms contact your doctor immediatly.
