A sweep is underway to find parents who owe child support payments and the Cameron County Sheriff's Department, along with the Texas Attorney General Child Support Division, have arrested seventeen individuals so far. The delinquent parents, arrested on civil warrants, face up to six months in jail and the cash bonds posted by those individuals are being paid to the custodial parent and children who are owed the support. To avoid an arrest by authorities, those parents with support warrants, should contact the Cameron County Sheriff's office.
