For a country so dependent on oil, the recent hike in gas prices is a nightmare.
In the Upper Valley, prices were as high as $3.41 a gallon today. Thats nearly $.10 more than yesterday.

In the past ten days, gas prices have gone up almost $.28. Many people in the Upper Valley are feeling the burn. Many people are left wondering when prices will do down.

With these prices, it took about $120. to fill up a Dodge Ram pick up truck. Others weren't able to fill up all the way.

Truck owner Peter Murphy says,  "Well i didn't fill it up because its just too much. So I only put $30. in and that will give me maybe over a little over a quarter."

Peter Murphy tells us he feels the oil companies are taking advantage. "There's no way that with what is happening in the middle east, that it can affect our price so quickly. They have a lot of reserves, i understand its going to up but only if it gets cut off and it hasn't yet. I think they're just gauging us" He says.

Many analysts say if the violence were to spread to countries like Saudi Arabia, we could be paying up to $5. a gallon.
