Connecticut investigators on scene of blaze that killed three.

Investigators are working to determine if arson is to blame for an early morning fire that claimed three lives in New Haven, Connecticut.

When fire crews arrived the multi-family house was engulfed in flames.

The sounds of terror coming out of the home brought neighbors running to help.

"I awoke to the sound of people screaming, I heard people screaming for their baby, their baby," said neighbor Jadine Small.

Fire fighters began rescuing people trapped on the second floor.

According to witnesses, at least one young child and a baby were dangled from a window so rescuers could reach them.

All three fatalities were on the third floor.

Eight others were taken to area hospitals with non-life threatening injuries.

Some of them hurt when jumping to safety.
