ALTON — One more upper Valley city wants to ban texting and driving.

The city of Alton just had their first reading for the ban about a week ago.
There are two more readings before the ban becomes official which could be as early next month.
Drivers will not be allowed to send or view messages while behind the wheel.
The city says it will ensure safety on roadways.
