SOUTH PADRE ISLAND — Many people are gearing up for the annual Polar Dip on New Year's Day which takes place on South Padre Island and it consist of many people taking a swim in the chilly waters of the Gulf of Mexico. The event is a fundraiser for local charities and registration is at 10 AM and the swim takes place at noon at Clayton's Resort and Beach Bar.
