BROWNSVILLE - The Holiday season can be a busy time for families, but during this time of the year pets tend to become lost and turn up at shelters.

Brownsville Animal Shelter officials say they usually see more stray dogs and lost pets coming through their doors from November through January. Those pets are taken care of at the shelter until the day after Christmas and then they are euthanized to make room for more incoming animals. The Brownsville shelter is offering some of those animals for adoption at only $85 dollars per pet and that includes having them neutered and fully vetted.
