Amber Alert child found with Harlingen man

HARLINGEN, TX (KVEO NEWSCENTER 23) — Harlingen police have found a missing child from Magnolia, Texas after she was reported missing by her family.
Police found Elizabeth Rex, also known as Lizzy, 14, with Harlingen resident Randy Johnson, 51, a family friend on Wednesday morning.
Authorities report that the girl has Down Syndrome and a form of Autism with the mental capacity of a 5 year-old child.
Police say Johnson was a friend of the family who had been staying with them in Magnolia. The girl's parents discovered that Johnson and the girl were having a relationship, parents kicked him out.
Lizzy's parents were concerned for her safety after she went missing on Monday and had no idea of her whereabouts until they got a call from Johnson taunting them saying they would never see Lizzy again.
The girl is at a local hospital and was found safe and not harmed. The FBI received tips that the suspect were inside a trailer at a Harlingen trailer park the case is still under investigation.
