Jose Cisneros, Julian Gutierrez and Martin Lozano have been arrested after a Crime Stoppers tip lead authorities to dig a little deeper into the men's activities.
Brownsville police, from the Special Investigations Unit, set up surveillance at a home off of Calles Street after a tip came in that some type of drug dealing was going on at the home.
Police made contact with two of the men, Julian Gutierrez and Jose Cisneros as they were leaving the home. Inside their vehicle police found what they had suspected, drugs.
The investigation continued and another man's name came up, Martin Lozano. Shortly thereafter, authorities made their way into the home off of Calles Street. There they found Lozano and 220 pounds of bundled marijuana.
"Local street value of this is about 50-thousand dollars." Said Brownsville Police Dept, PIO Eddie Garcia.
To the alleged dealers, it's now worth nothing as authorities confiscated that and about 23.2 grams of pre-packaged cocaine.
The three men have all been charged with possession of marijuana and organizing in criminal activity. Lozano has also been charged with possession of cocaine. The men's bonds range from 40 to 65- thousand dollars.
"Crime Stoppers has been very active lately. The calls that have been received, we've been able to make numerous arrests, as a result of this." said the BPD Spokesperson.
Garcia adds continued community effort and reporting of suspicious activity will help officers get those breaking the law behind bars.
