All Eyes On Earl
Impact of massive storm just hours away for Outer Banks.
As the outer bands of Hurricane Earl begin to brush the Outer Banks of North Carolina, a sense of urgency is growing.
Businesses are taking the last opportunity to board up, while families are packing up and heading for safety.
Preparations are taking place along much of the east coast.
Boats are being pulled from the water in Massachusetts and many are stocking up on supplies, getting ready every way they can for what could be a rough couple of days.
Still, he growing waves are a lure for high-flying surfers and apparently some visitors who refuse to leave.
"We are not moving out we're going to hang in here and battle this storm with everyone else. Hopefully it won't be too bad," said tourist Troy Schools.
It's a hope shared by thousands, many who are making the safe move to higher ground.
