SAN JUAN - Reynaldo Vasquez,30, is finally in police custody after several days on the run. Vasquez is the main suspect in an aggravated robbery of a liquor store on January 4th.
But that is only the beginning of Vasquez's list of charges.
"In the process of us locating him and us trying to make contact with him, he evaded from the police and ended up in a trailer home on Mint Drive," said Sgt. Rudy Luna, San Juan Police Department.
Police said Vasquez broke into a home and threatened the lives of the inhabitants, a mother and her three children. Luckily, the mom and kids escaped through a window and Vasquez surrendered.
But this unpredictable behavior now has police escorting Vasquez with a taser attached to his body.
"That is only just for safety purposes for us and for him as well. He is a violent suspect," said Luna.
Vasquez was charged with one count of aggravated robbery, two counts of evading arrest in a vehicle, one count of evading arrest on foot, and four counts of aggravated kidnapping.
"He did request a lawyer, so he is cooperating to a certain point. But as far as providing statements, he is not talking," said Luna.
Police are still investigating and hint that other additional charges may be pending.
