The Kika De La Garza Subtropical AG Center in Weslaco, thought to be in danger of closing, may be rescued after county commissioners approved a resolution on Monday.

Right now the Valley, along with other states, depend on the scientific community for pest and disease prevention programs that the center offers. County officials say on the chopping block would be 227 jobs along with $27 million dollars if it closes.
