Texas Governor Rick Perry proclaimed May as Elder Abuse Prevention Month.

Adult Protective Services (APS) is reminding Texans that it's everyone's business to prevent abuse, neglect, and financial exploitation of those who are elderly or have disabilities.

The campaign will bring the community, civic and professional groups to bring attention and resources on elder abuse prevention with conferences, presentations and other events through the month of May.

 There are several public events being held in in South Texas.

May 1:
