In Brownsville, Mayor Pat Ahumada, city commissioners and school board members welcomed actor Edward James Olmos.

Olmos visited Brownsville to attend a school board meeting to propose that the B.I.S.D. help fund a documentary titled "Kings of Brownsville". Chess player students recently won a national title in chess and Olmos and film maker Haro hope to feature the chess students and their accomplishments in the game.
