Three pitbulls are now ready for adoption in the lower valley after a lifetime of abuse.
Newscenter 23 showed you the sad images back in October.
Since the Brownsville Animal Shelter took custody of the pups they are now very active and have gained weight.
Police say the owner starved the dogs and possibly used them for fighting.
Officials tell us that because of the trauma the dogs still show some signs of aggression.
The search is on for the perfect home.

Animal Shelter Supervisor Robert Dipping says "the animals aren't actually aggressive to humans they are aggressive to other animals. It's all speculation but it could've been that they were used fro fighting or that they had to fight for their own food. So that's where their mentality is right now. It's going to take a little time..."

The dog owner is still awaiting trial for animal cruelty.
