It was the elder generation's September 11th, an unprovoked attack on U.S. soil.

Today marks the 72nd anniversary of Pearl Harbor Day.

That attack, by the Japanese, on the island on Oahu, Hawaii is what made the United States get involved in World War II.

Roughly 2,500 U.S. Marines, sailors and soldiers were killed that day.

More than 2,000 others were injured. There are three known survivors from that day, that includes 95 year-old Jackson B. Davis, a former state senator from Louisiana.
