MCALLEN - 86 Year old Fernando Resendez served in World War Two from 1844 to 1846. After years of waiting for the medals the family could wait no more and contacted Congressman Ruben Hinojosa. And with some Congressional pull the records were located and Resendez is finally honored for his service to country.

"well it means it's something I can show to my grandchildren, my children, and myself can look at them every once in a while."

Today Resendez is receiving several medals including the good conduct medal, The American Campaign medal, and three bronze service stars.
