$365,000 seized in cocaine and meth at Gateway bridge
BROWNSVILLE, TEXAS (KVEO NEWSCENTER 23) — Custom and Border Protection officers seized over $365,000 in cocaine and meth at a port of entry.
On Saturday, April 13, CBP officers working the Gateway International port of entry encountered a 1998 Dodge Ram 1500 driven by a Mexican citizen. He was referred to a secondary examination where officers searched and discovered 12 packages in a hidden compartment.
CBP officers removed the packages and weighed them indicating a total weight of 7.7 lbs. of alleged methamphetamine and 7.8 lbs. of alleged cocaine.
The alleged methamphetamine has an estimated street value of approximately $115,500 and the alleged cocaine has an estimated street value of approximately $249,600.
