3 year-old calls 911 for unresponsive dad

A three year-old is being credited for her quick thinking, after she couldn't wake her father. Police say she called 911 and when they arrived, they found meth and drug paraphernalia, Emily Baucum has the details.

Police responded to a small home where every window is shuttered. It's clear from the outside, a little girl lives here, the child told a 911 dispatcher that her father was unresponsive.

Ofc. Paul Gonzales, Kerrville Police Department, "It was discovered that the individual may have been under the influence of some type of narcotic drug."

Officer Gonzales says police managed to wake the father up. Quentin Sivils, 21, wearing a shirt that says, "Trust me", was booked into jail.

Police found drug paraphernalia in the house, as well as a crystal substance that tested positive for methamphetamines.

Ofc. Paul Gonzales, "Child Protective Services was notified. They arrived on scene and placed the three-year-old girl in a safety plan."

Officer Gonzales says CPS is now investigating the child's living situation. Neighbors say a very large extended family lives there.

Those neighbors tell us they're amazed the 3 year-old took charge and called 911 and so are police, Officer Gonzales, "She is a very smart girl to do the right thing and making sure help was sent in that direction."
