Suspect, in 2008 murder case, handed $2 million dollar bond

A man is charged with capital murder in connection with a 2008 murder case of a Weslaco high school teacher.

Francisco Javier Gonzales, 27, is accused of stabbing Eduardo Cruz more than seventy times with a pair of scissors.

Gonzalez was formally charged on Friday and received a $2 million dollar bond.

If found guilty, Gonzales could face life in prison.
