$2 Million Dollars of Marijuana Seized at Port of Entries

CPB officers stopped $2 million dollar worth of narcotics from hitting Valley streets.

On May 13th around 5:30 in the afternoon at the Hidalgo port of entry officers found 133 pounds of marijuana stashed inside all four tires of a late model Cherokee. The driver was questioned and released but the passenger, a 25 year-old woman from Mexico, was arrested on federal drug charges.

Hours later, at the Pharr cargo facility, a Mexican registered tractor-trailer truck heading north with a commercial shipment of mixed produce was stopped for a secondary inspection. Officer found 2,350 pounds of marijuana inside and the driver is being questioned.
