18th Annual Rio Grande Valley Birding Festival Ends
Avid bird watchers from across the states said their final goodbyes as a five day festival came to an end.
They say bird's of a feather flock together and this week that saying proved to be true as many wild bird enthusiasts packed the Harlingen Convention Center for the 18th Annual Rio Grande Valley Birding Festival. The festival started Wednesday and hosted many events that included children's programs and tradeshow traffic. The record number for different species of birds seen during the 60 different field trips was over two hundred and fifty. There are over 30 species of birds in the Valley that you can't find anywhere else and that's what makes this festival such a success every year. The birding festival is one of the oldest and largest festivals in the nation.
