Workers from the Texas Land Office cleaned up about 1,000 gallons of diesel fuel that spilled into the water near South Point Marina. The Texas Land Office reported that the cause of the diesel leak was from a tug boat that released the diesel into the water when it began to sink near the Cemex plant. Workers used vacuums and skimmers to collect and then remove the fuel, but the tug boat is still at the bottom of the marina.
