Border Patrol agents picked up more than a million dollars in marijuana in three separate busts.
The first bust happened near Garceño on Monday when officers spotted 12 men carrying large bundles on their backs near the Rio Grande river. When agents approached them the group took off leaving behind 825 pounds of marijuana.
Three hours later, south of Sullivan City agents found a Chevy minivan abandoned and inside they found 504 pounds of marijuana and then near Rio Grande City agents came across 15 bundles of marijuana that appeared to have been carried by several men. Officers made no arrests, but did confiscate the drugs.
