The Coast Guard now says it will be the middle of July before a new containment cap system is in place and able to siphon the 50,000 barrels gushing from the BP oil well each day.

For now they are capturing about 15,000 a day.

The new estimates indicate that twice as much oil is leaking into the Gulf of Nexico as previously estimated.

That means there could be more than 100-million gallons of oil already in the water.

Biologists say with those new flow estimates and the amount of oil already in the water the effects of the spill could be felt along the Gulf Coast for at least a decade.
