Teen falls through skylight and 30 feet to the floor while trespassing on church roof.

A boy is recovering in the hospital after falling through the roof of a church in Bellaire, Texas.

Bellaire police said three boys were playing on the rood of the Bellaire United Methodist Church around 12:30 a.m. Thursday.

One of the boys fell through a skylight and landed inside the church.

A wooden bench broke his approximately 30-foot fall.

The church's pastor said children often play on the roof of the church.

"We want kids to be a part of what we do," the Rev. Valerie Hudson said. "We just want them to be here when we're here."

The boy was taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital.

The other two boys were taken into police custody.

Charges are pending.
