San Francisco officer investigated after throwing handcuffed suspect to the curb.

A video recently posted on YouTube shows the arrest of an assault suspect that ends with the woman doing a face-plant on the pavement courtesy of a police officer.

The San Francisco Police Department has confirmed that an internal investigation is underway into the incident, which happened this past Sunday.

A person in an apartment above the arrest scene shot three minutes and 39 seconds worth of video that shows a belligerent woman shouting obscenities at the officer prior to her arrest.

She is with a crying baby in a stroller.

The suspect keeps shouting that they are leaving her baby in the street as she resists the officers attempt to get her in the squad car.

At about 1:15 into the video you can see the woman try to get away from the officer.

He then appears to push her into the street.

The video doesn't show it, but an ambulance was called and the woman was taken to San Francisco General Hospital.

Police reportedly stopped the woman because she fit the description of a person of interest in a nearby assault case.

The officer in the video was ordered to surrender his badge and weapon until the conclusion of the investigation.
