TORNADO WATCH 435 IS IN EFFECT UNTIL 800 PM CDT FOR THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS:
 

ARANSAS, BEE, BROOKS, CALHOUN, CAMERON, DUVAL, GOLIAD, HIDAGLO, JIM HOGG, JIM WELLS, KENEDY, KLEBERG, LA SALLE, LIVE OAK, MCMULLEN, NUECES, REFUGIO, SAN PATRICIO, STARR, VICTORIA, WEBB, WILLACY AND ZAPATA.

DEVELOPMENT OF NEW SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS TODAY WILL MAINTAIN A THREAT OF URBAN AND  POOR DRAINAGE FLOODING...


FEEDER BANDS FROM WEAKENING HURRICANE ALEX CONTINUE TO ROTATE EAST TO WEST ACROSS PORTIONS OF DEEP SOUTH TEXAS EARLY THIS MORNING. ANY ADDITIONAL RAIN THAT FALLS ON SATURATED SOIL WILL RAPIDLY RUNOFF AND PRODUCE RAPID RISES IN STREAMS...ARROYOS AND FLOOD PRONE LOW LYING AREAS. IN ADDITION TO THE RAIN BANDS...THE ATMOSPHERE OVER DEEP SOUTH TEXAS REMAINS PRIMED FOR ADDITIONAL DEVELOPMENT OF SHOWERS AND SOME THUNDERSTORMS LATER THIS MORNING
AND AFTERNOON. A VERY MOIST ATMOSPHERE COMBINING WITH DAY TIME HEATING WILL HELP INITIATE HEAVY SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS LATER TODAY AND CONTINUE INTO TONIGHT.
