The Cameron County Sheriff's Office says a 19 month-old was playing with her 3 year-old cousin at a home on Muniz street in La Feria. It's reported that toddler's mother walked across the street to talk to her husband leaving the children unsupervised. While gone the 19 month-old made his way into the inflatable pool, measuring 30 feet long and 2 and half feet deep, and leaned forward and fell in. The mother administered CPR when she returned and pulled the toddler out of the pool, but died during the transportation to the hospital.

At this time the mother has not been charged with any crime and the investigation continues with all the evidence being presented to the District Attorney's Office.
