Teen Charged With Robbery, Kidnapping, and Sexual Assault
18 year old Jose Luis Rodriguez is being held in Jail on a 550-thousand dollar bond after he was arraigned on three charges."
Police say Rodriguez say robbed, kidnapped, and sexually assault a 17 year old girl.
Police say it all started early Saturday morning at the Country Inn Suites off the expressway. Police say the victim said Rodriguez with came into a room she was in with a another male and female. While inside the room Rodriguez said this a robbery and he had a gun in the car.
"They started gathering items form the room one of the victims purse."
Police say the victim followed the suspects to try to get her purse back. That's when police say Rodriguez forced the 17 year teen into a car and took off. While in the car police say Rodriguez and another man strangled the victim until she passed out. When she woke up she says they forced her into a home on the 700 block of Jim Hogg. Inside police say she was sexually assaulted.
This woman "Linda" who lives on the street says she was sitting on front of her home when she heard some noises.
"I heard a girl scream I didn't think nothing of it because there are girls walking up and down the street all the time."
She says she it's usually a quiet neighborhood and is shocked about the charges.
"It's scary I am not going to stay out here by myself anymore."
Police say after the the teen was sexually assaulted and leaving the home Rodriguez said he would threaten and kill her and her family if she went to police.
Police were able to find Rodriguez at his home and take him into custody.
Police say the investigation is ongoing.
