Sylvia Handy's sentencing hearing rescheduled.

Thursday, June 24, 2010 - 9:54am
The sentencing for former Hidalgo County Commissioner Sylvia Handy was moved to Monday. The reasoning behind the move is the discovery of a letter written by a babysitter claiming she was responsible for the incident, not Handy. Prosecutors are not convinced with the letter and believe that Handy wrote the letter herself and had the woman copy a draft. Handy pleaded guilty for harboring illegal immigrants and tax evasion and awaits sentencing on those charges.
