Hundreds of Kemp Ridley sea turtle eggs, that were rescued from South Padre Island before the hurricane, arrived and being cared for in Corpus Christi.

Last Tuesday, authorities with Sea Turtle Inc. and with the help of the Gladys Porter Zoo decided to dig up the turtle eggs and took them to the zoo for safe keeping. Zoo officials say the eggs would not have made it if they had not been removed from their nesting grounds. Biologist from the zoo are monitoring the eggs on a 24 hour basis until the end of the incubation.
