A popular fishing location in Cameron county got a major facelift and officials had a cutting ribbon ceremony to celebrate. The state highway 48 boat ramp is one of the few public boat launching facilities at the Laguna Madre area with paved parking spaces, solar lighted light post, sidewalks, pavilion, docks and boat ramp. The price for all the improvements totaled $500,000 dollars with the funding coming from the Texas Park and Wildlife Department and Cameron Parks and Recreation.
