Port of Brownsville dredging project ends with success.

The Port of Brownsville $16 million dollar ship channel dredging project has been completed and allowing larger vessels to enter into the port. The Army Corps of Engineers began the dredging of the channel four months ago by removing sand from the inner port to make it deeper for ships with a draft of up to 39 feet could enter. Port officials say the dredging was needed since the last time it was dredged was back in the mid-90's.
