Police Say Mayor Pat Ahumada Arrested for DWI
Brownsville Police say they arrested Brownsville Mayor Pat Ahumada Tuesday morning at about 2:30 a.m. after an officer reported seeing Ahumada driving "erradically and at a high rate of speed" down Alton Gloor Boulevard. The officer states in his report that he stopped Ahumada after the mayor came to the intersection of Alton Gloor and Paredes Line and he went over the curb when turning right. Ahumada refused to take a field sobriety test or a brethalizer test. He was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated. Police say this is his second offense. Ahumada posted a $3,500 bond and was released from jail in less than an hour.
