Police responded to two crime scenes in the early morning hours of Sunday on the east side of town after several neighbors reported shots fired.

At one scene, located on North Bernal, police found the body of 18 year old Luis Alejandro Alvarado in his pick-up truck, he had sustained several gunshot wounds.

A second victim, also gunned down, was found at the intersection of Acapulco and Veracruz. Eighteen year old Gabriel Angel Garcia was transported to a hospital in San Antonio and is critical condition tonight.

"These two victims, we have gotten information that they knew each other." Brownsville Police Departments, PIO, Eddie Garcia said.

While police say the men did know each other and were together the night of the shootings, they are not releasing details surrounding why the men were found at two separate locations.

What they are looking for now, is who else may have been with the men the night they were shot.

"Right now we're following leads we've received and we're encouraging anybody with information on who might have been with these two, to give us a call." Garcia said.
