Pharr police monitoring violence across the border.

Early Tuesday morning there were unconfirmed reports of street battles breaking out in different parts of Reynosa, Mexico with one person being killed, Matt Fernandez met with local law enforcement personnel in Pharr to see how they are handling the situation on the American side of the border.

Pharr Police Chief Ruben Villescas stated that his department was monitoring the situation on the bridge after speaking to Mexican authorities. The bridge remained opened throughout the day, but some streets in Mexico were blocked off by Mexican police.
